REGISTRATION
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, begining on the day stated on the website
and print materials. A registration fee and deposit (for workshops) is due upon registration.
Students will receive a registration confirmation letter by mail within two (2) weeks after they register.
Early registration is encouraged, as many workshops fill quickly.
Workshops with insufficient enrollment may be cancelled, so it is important to register early.

WAITING LISTS
When a workshop is full, interested students may sign up on the waiting list.
No registration fee or deposit is required to be on the waiting list. Students are notified of openings
in the order they sign up on the waiting list. When students are notified of openings,
they must pay the registration fee and tuition, or they will lose their place on the list.
COSTS
Tuitions vary based on workshop costs, and include still life props and plein air site fees, but not model fees.
There will be a fee added to programs that require a professional model.
Some workshops require a materials kit. An additional fee to cover the cost of materials is noted for these workshops.
Deposit Schedule:
60 days or less: Full amount due. Plus $20.00 non-refundable registration fee.
90 days or less: 50% of workshop fee. Plus $20.00 non-refundable registration fee.
More than 90 days: $100 deposit per student. Plus $20.00 non-refundable registration fee.
This deposit will hold your place in the workshop.
A $20 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration for all workshops.
Each student will pay the $20 fee only once for the current workshop schedule.
Students enrolled in workshops will be sent an invoice approximately forty-five (45) days before the workshop as a reminder that the balance must be paid. The balance payment is due no later than thirty (30) days prior to the first day of the workshop. At that time, the student’s credit card will automatically be charged the balance due unless the student makes other payment arrangements (e.g. mails a check, or provides an alternate credit card number).
Students registering online must call the Studio prior to the payment due date to provide a credit card
with which to charge the final payment. Note: All cancellations must be in writing. See below.
REFUND POLICIES
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing. There are no exceptions.
You may mail a letter, fax a letter (858-679-9339), or send an email (hvstudios1@gmail.com)
to cancel your spot in a workshop. Cancellations are never accepted over the phone.
WORKSHOPS
If you cancel more than thirty (30) days before the first day of the workshop,
Highland Valley Studios will retain your $100 deposit and $20 registration fee.
You will receive a refund of any additional tuition you have paid for that workshop.
If you cancel twenty-nine (29) days or less before the start of a workshop,
you will forfeit your entire tuition for that workshop. You will not get a refund.
However, a friend or family member may attend the workshop in your place,
or you may donate your spot as a scholarship to a financial need student.
Transfer Policy: Workshops
For transfers made thirty (30) days or more before the first day of a workshop,
students will be charged a transfer fee of $50.
No transfers are allowed less than thirty (30) days before the first day of a workshop.
PLEASE NOTE: Highland Valley Studios is not responsible for providing make-ups or issuing refunds, credits or transfers for days or entire workshops/classes missed as a result of illness, emergencies or other events beyond the School’s control. Students will receive a full tuition refund only in the event that Highland Valley Studios cancels the workshop. Highland Valley Studios strongly urges all out-of-town students to buy refundable airline tickets in case of workshop cancellations or other unforeseen changes.
These policies will be strictly enforced. Call Highland Valley Studios prior to registering
if you have any questions regarding cancellation, transfer and refund policies.
CHECKS
A fee of $15 will be charged for any checks returned for non-sufficient funds.
WORKSHOP LOCATION
Most workshops and classes are held at the Ranch. Students attending workshops will be given instructions
on where to meet the first day of the workshop. Call if you have questions.
CHANGES
Highland Valley Studios reserves the right to change its calendar, withdraw or modify a course
or substitute instructors at any time. The School will make every effort to notify students of major changes
in the schedule. Highland Valley Studios reserves the right to require withdrawal
of any student whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the School.
SKILL LEVELS
Skill levels are noted by each workshop description to help you derive as much success from as possible.
Selecting a class with a higher skill level than you possess can be a frustrating experience.
Unless otherwise noted, all students should have good basic drawing skills before attempting a workshop.
Workshops designated for beginners are appropriate for students with little or no art experience.
Please note that Highland Valley Studios Workshops are designed for adults.
Students younger than 18 are sometimes admitted to classes.

Highland Valley Studios recommends that you make your hotel accommodations immediately
after you receive your registration confirmation
to take advantage of preferred rates and room availability.
SUPPLIES
Supply lists are available online at the bottom of each class description. Supply lists will be mailed
to students approximately forty-five (45) days prior to the workshop, along with the invoice.
